Abel Building Solutions (ABS) is a digital “one-stop shop” where customers can source their building essentials. In 2019, www.buildwithabs.com was launched, retailing construction supplies through an e-commerce platform to provide ease and convenience to ABS customers. In addition to providing a wide range of building products, ABS also serves as a consultancy firm, guiding its clients through the entire building process. ABS adds value to its many relationships by engaging the expertise of its in-house team of engineers, draughtsmen, and technicians, as well as leveraging its relationships and networks within the ANSA McAL Group, for the benefit of its clients.
ABS is comprised of four (4) divisions – ABEL Clay, Bestcrete, Air-Conditioning and Engineering Systems. These divisions offer complementary building products and provide synergies and services that other companies are unable to. All ABEL and Bestcrete products are locally manufactured to internationally accepted standards, with all companies being ISO 9000 certified.
ANSA Coatings Ltd. (ACL) is the Caribbean’s most diversified paint and coatings manufacturer and supplier, bringing together over a century of expertise from Penta Paints and Sissons Paints. Berger Paints joined the portfolio in 2017. ACL leads in product quality with ISO 9001:2015 certification and drives innovation through global partnerships and its advanced technical laboratory, offering a wide range of decorative, industrial, automotive, and marine coatings.
ANSA Coatings Ltd. (ACL) is the most diversified manufacturer and supplier of paint and coatings in the Caribbean. Berger Paints was added to the coating’s portfolio in 2017. The company was established from the integration of Penta Paints Caribbean Ltd. and Sissons Paints (Trinidad) Ltd. in June 2012. The operations of these two (2) leading manufacturers and distributors unified over one hundred (100) years of experience, knowledge and expertise in the sphere of coatings.

The company boasts ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications and is notable for long-term support of sports, culture, and education through sponsorships and awards. Berger is publicly listed with 6,000 shareholders and is driven by a dedicated team, most of whom have served for over a decade.
Since 1953, Berger Paints Jamaica Limited has been providing innovative, cutting-edge paint products and services, based on the Company’s long held ethos of delivering lasting beauty and protection to homes and institutions across Jamaica. Berger Paints Jamaica Limited is one of the largest paint-manufacturing entities in the English-speaking Caribbean, with 95% of the company’s products manufactured locally. Backed by a strong technical support team, Berger Paints Jamaica Ltd. has conducted extensive research to develop paint products specifically for the Caribbean environment. Since 1967, Berger Paints Barbados Limited has been manufacturing, selling and distributing a wide range of high-performance decorative, marine and industrial paints and coatings, for residential and commercial application, in Barbados and across the OECS territories.

Sissons Paints, established in Grenada in 1986, has grown as a leading manufacturer and exporter, offering a broad range of decorative, industrial, and marine coatings. Known for innovative product launches and a vast colour selection, Sissons combines technical expertise with strong customer service. The company now manufactures Berger Paints for the OECS and is a wholly owned subsidiary of AnsaMcal Ltd.
Sissons Paints opened its doors in Grenada in August 1986 with a staff of 12. It’s one of a few manufacturing and exporting companies in Grenada and has grown in staff and physical facilities, expanded its product line and improved its profitability. Sissons Paints has set the pace for product development in the Caribbean. The group of companies offers a wide variety of decorative and protective coatings: these include light and heavy industrial coatings furniture finishes and marine paints.
Sissons Paints was the first company to successfully introduce products such as Siscolac Chinese Lacquer, polyurethane varnish, oil varnish stain (stain and varnish in one), non-drip ceiling white, weather guard exterior emulsion and a water-based enamel. The company also provides a tint system for its top-of-the-line products, super gloss, weather guard and super matte, with a colour range of three thousand shades. Through continuous product development and technical expertise, Sissons is able to provide high quality, world class products and superior customer service.
Sissons Grenada now manufactures Berger Paints for the OECS markets, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of AnsaMcal Ltd.

Bestcrete Aggregate Limited (BAL), established in 2018, operates a licensed sand and gravel quarry in Matura, Trinidad, supplying plastering sand, processed aggregates, and supporting Bestcrete’s concrete products. The company also serves local businesses and has launched AggreGO!, a unique DIY retail line of pre-bagged aggregates—the first of its kind in Trinidad & Tobago. BAL’s future growth is driven by continuous innovation and portfolio expansion.
Bestcrete Aggregate Limited (BAL) commenced operations early in 2018 through the acquisition of its sand and gravel quarry located in Matura, North-Eastern Trinidad. BAL operates one of the few legally licensed quarries in the Twin Island Republic of Trinidad & Tobago. Through the process of unearthing, the quarry provides both plastering sand and pit-run granular aggregate. Mined plastering sand requires no further manufacturing, however, pit-run aggregate requires processing at an off-site aggregate wash plant. Through the various cycles of washing, filtering, and screening, the material is divided into CS1 sand (sharp sand), 10 mm (⅜) gravel, and 20 mm (¾) gravel.
Initially, the investment into BAL was aimed to provide the raw materials necessary to produce Bestcrete concrete blocks and other concrete based products. Over the years, BAL has successfully maximized its potential to supply the internal operations, subsequently, any surplus of aggregate produced has been used to supply local businesses with the various types of aggregate. To further develop the business’s product portfolio and expand customer segments serviced, the company launched the new range of retail market DIY consumer-focused products, AggreGO! The line includes four types of 30 KG, pre-bagged aggregate. The concept and customer value proposition behind the launch of AggreGO! represents the first of its kind in the Trinidad & Tobago market. Moving forward, continuous innovation will be at the heart of the future strategic growth for Bestcrete Aggregate Limited.
